When you head to the grocery and pick up anything in pill form, you tend to see a lot of different logos and labels on the bottle. There will be the usual advisement about pregnant women and people under the age of 18 refraining from taking them, as well as the required boilerplate “This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Individual results may vary.” It’s something that every non-medicinal supplement has to put on, and if you’ve picked up any vitamin or mineral supplement you’re sure to see it.
But in too many supplements, you’ll run into things you most certainly don’t want to see. Sometimes it’s artificial fillers, other times it’s from a country with less stringent standards than our own. Today we thought we’d discuss some of the labels you’ll be finding on Nutriflair’s high-quality supplements, what they mean, and how they can ensure that you’re getting something from a top supplement brand. (While not all of these apply to every product, you will be seeing these on the bottles of many of our products.)
When you see this logo, it means what it says. Instead of a gelatin base for the supplement, the base of this particular pill will be cellulose (plant matter). You can be assured that there is no egg, fish, or milk used when you see this on your bottle.
The jury is still out one whether GMO products are good for you or not, but we know it’s important for some people to know whether or not the ingredients found in our high-quality supplements contain genetically-modified organisms. When you see this label, you can be sure that you’re getting a GMO-free food.
“Made In USA”
We’re proud to say that our high-quality supplements are made in the USA. We are held to higher standards than those in many other countries, and we use only supplements made in an FDA Registered and Certified Facility (see below). It’s important to remember that many other countries simply don’t have the high-standards that you’ll find in the United States, and the fillers they use could actually be detrimental to your health. After all, how can you be sure that you’re getting Garcinia Cambogia weight loss pills and not just some melamine?
Of course, that doesn’t mean that every ingredient is grown here in the United States. If you’re looking for Ceylon cinnamon supplements, you want the Ceylon to come from Sri Lanka, the only place you can actually get true cinnamon. But we make sure to get on the best raw ingredients.
“Made In An FDA-Registered and Inspected Facility”
The facility where Nutriflair’s pharmaceutical-grade supplements are made meets the standards as dictated by the Food and Drug Administration. This means that at any time the FDA may come in and inspect our equipment and the environment in which the supplements are made, ensuring that everything is properly cleaned and separated in order to prevent cross-contamination of ingredients. And speaking of having the highest manufacturing processes…
At Nutriflair, we follow GMP, or Good Manufacturing Processes. It is just one more level of oversight that makes sure that the products you are getting from Nutriflair are unadulterated in any way.
Of course, this one is a no-brainer. It’s important to know what you’re putting in your body. This includes the active ingredients, which are the ones that are put into each supplement in order to have the desired effect. This would include ingredients such as turmeric, Ceylon cinnamon, Garcinia Cambogia, etc.
The ingredient list will also contain inactive ingredients that form the body of the pill and make it easier to dissolve in your stomach and to absorb the active ingredients. Inactive ingredients often pass through the body unabsorbed.
“Free Of” and “Zero”
We want to make sure you know what you’re getting in a pill, but sometimes it’s just as important to know what you’re not getting as you purchase a supplement. We will often tell you that our supplements are “Free Of” or have “Zero” shellfish, soy, GMO ingredients, milk, egg, wheat, gluten, or nuts, We also think it’s important for you to know when there are no sugars or artificial sweeteners.
“Made With Natural Ingredients”
We have to be honest with this one: there’s no industry standard for what is considered natural. But in our case, that means that there aren’t any artificial ingredients such as chemicals, additives, or preservatives.
A recyclable bottle isn’t going to affect what’s inside, but we figured if you’re taking care of your body then you might want to protect the environment as well!
It won’t surprise you to know that we believe it’s important to decide what to put in your body when you’re looking for a supplement, and we make sure to sell only the best. Check out our offerings here!
